There are so many roles within print, so whether you’re a techie, love to sell or chat to customers or design amazing things, you can be in the print industry.

My career in print to date – snapshot
I started working in the print industry when I was 16. I have worked in varied roles from editorial and business admin to despatch, but settled in marketing in 2007 as I absolutely love being a marketer!

Why I am passionate about my job
Print is a versatile and fun industry to work in, therefore every day is different. It’s fast-paced, demanding, there’s never a dull moment, creativity is needed every minute of every day and that is why I love what I do. I have the freedom to create, innovate and inspire every day, that’s pretty special!

Why should women at the beginning of their careers consider the print industry?
There are so many roles within print, so whether you’re a techie, love to sell or chat to customers or design amazing things, you can be in the print industry. There’s also great satisfaction in progressing your career in a male-dominated industry!

The one thing I would do to improve gender diversity in our sector is?
Exactly this – bringing together a group of women with knowledge and experience that can share, support, learn and grow together, helping to bridge the gap for young women to feel confident in having a career in print. By being proud of who we are, what we do, what we’ve achieved and how we’ve achieved it, this will create positive role models for young women and I feel privileged to be part of this as well as having the opportunity to learn and develop more too.
